Sensolus is a Zebra Alliance Partner. We turn the Zebra devices your team already carries into two things at once: a gateway that collects tag signals in the background all shift long, and an app your people open to see where every container, pallet and tool actually is. Connect your fixed Zebra RFID readers too, and the picture completes itself. Nothing new to buy.
You already run Zebra hardware, and your team already knows how to use it. What you probably don't have is a clear view of the assets with no power and no wires: the containers, pallets and tools that quietly go missing. Sensolus closes that gap on the devices already in your operation, so nobody has to learn a second system or carry a second scanner.
The Sensolus app runs on rugged Zebra mobile computers and scanners. With background scanning switched on, the device picks up Bluetooth (BLE) location tags nearby and reports them with its own position, so assets get located without anyone pressing a button. The same app scans barcodes and logs inspections. This is the setup behind the Ampère story below.
Know what’s passing your checkpoints without anyone lifting a scanner. Zebra RFID readers are registered in Sensolus as infrastructure devices and post their scans to the platform, so every RFID-tagged asset shows up at that location automatically. Sensolus sets the connection up with you.
Rugged hardware, a full-shift battery and a scan engine that reads labels other devices give up on, plus a fleet your IT team already provisions, patches and supports. That is why we built the gateway for Zebra devices, and not for whatever phone happens to be in someone’s pocket.
Built for the places your assets live
Yards, docks, cold stores, building sites. Drop and dust ratings a consumer phone does not have. A device that dies is a gateway that stops reporting.
A battery that lasts the shift
Background scanning only gives you continuous coverage if the device stays alive all shift. Hot-swappable batteries keep it there.
Scan engines that read what others give up on
Damaged, dirty, shrink-wrapped or faded labels. Bad light. From a forklift, at distance. That is what makes a barcode step reliable enough to build on.
A fleet your IT team already manages
MDM enrolment, staged provisioning, security patching and multi-year support. Our gateway has to survive OS updates and device swaps, and a managed fleet makes that a promise rather than a hope.
A device the operator already carries
No second thing on the belt, no new training, no change management.
"The driver does not have to perform any operations to register the different containers on board. Their signal is immediately picked up and the location is displayed in real time in the Sensolus platform."
Figures from the published Ampère success story
Mobile scanning and fixed checkpoints cover different parts of an operation. Match the right Zebra hardware to each, and see it all in one platform next to your smart trackers.
Returnable containers, pallets and crates
Tag your returnable transport items with low-cost location tags and let the Zebra devices your drivers already carry pick them up, exactly the Ampère setup. Add smart trackers on the highest-value items for visibility in transit.
Warehouse gates and loading docks
Zebra RFID readers at entry and exit points check tagged assets in and out with no manual scanning, so shipping and receiving counts stay accurate without anyone walking the yard.
Inspections and checks in the field
The same Sensolus app on the same Zebra device lets operators scan an asset, fill in a mobile form and snap a photo, so the check lands on the asset timeline instead of on paper.
Neither one gives you the whole story on its own. A scan is a decision someone made: precise, tied to a process step, and it only happens when a person acts. BLE is the opposite. Nobody has to do anything, and the assets keep reporting whether or not they were part of anyone's plan today. Put both on the same platform and the gaps in one are covered by the other. Here is what you get when they run together.
A container scanned at dispatch and again three weeks later on return is a black box in between. BLE closes it.
Process discipline is never 100%. The tag does not need anyone to remember.
Counting a full trailer or cage by barcode is one scan per asset. BLE picks up everything in range at once, and the barcode scan stays there for the items that need a confirmed, person-verified event.
The same Zebra handheld the operator already carries reads the barcode and collects the BLE tags around it. No second device, no second rollout.
The Zebra device on your operator's belt does two different things for you at the same time, and only one of them asks anything of them.
The Sensolus gateway service runs continuously on the Zebra device, with no screen open and nobody prompting it. As the operator walks the yard, the dock or the production hall, doing whatever their job actually is in whatever app it lives in, the device picks up the BLE tags around it and forwards them with its own position. Every operator on shift becomes a moving detection point. Nobody has to be asked to do anything.
They open the Sensolus app on the same device: find this container, scan it in or out, log an inspection, report damage, check where the pallet went. What they see is what the gateways have been collecting all along, theirs and every other device’s.
Stick the location tags on and you're done. From there every Zebra detection, from a mobile scanner or an RFID reader, flows to the platform on its own. No manuals, no data entry, no exports.
Stick a Sensolus location tag on each asset. They run for years with no wires and no power, and go on anything from a small box to a giant container.
Zebra scanners pick up location tags in range with no operator action, just like Ampère’s drivers. Fixed RFID readers spot tags in bulk, even out of sight.
The scan goes straight to the platform, where the tag is matched to the right asset inside your own organization, and lands on the asset timeline to feed your geozones, reports and alerts. Our API and webhooks push the same data on to the tech stack you use today, ERP, WMS or BI, so it shows up where your team already works.
Your Zebra hardware is very good at spotting a tag fast. On its own, that is a moment in time. Sensolus keeps those moments together, turns them into a history you can act on, and follows the assets once they roll off your site.
| Your Zebra hardware | Together with Sensolus |
|---|---|
| Spots tagged assets on your own sites, fast and in bulk | Smart trackers with GPS, Wi-Fi and BLE follow the assets that leave |
| Each reader or device reports what it saw, where it stands | Every scan, tag and tracker in one view, whatever picked it up |
| Tells you an asset was there, at that moment | Geozones, asset history and alerts when something leaves or stops showing up |
| Scan data stays in the tool that captured it | One secure platform, your data stays yours (hello, GDPR) with SSO access control |
Yes. Sensolus is an Alliance Partner in Zebra’s PartnerConnect program, the track for companies whose own hardware and technology complement Zebra’s. That distinction matters in practice: Sensolus brings its own tags, trackers and platform alongside your Zebra devices, the integration between them is a deliberate, supported product rather than a workaround, and Sensolus and Zebra work the same deals through the same channel. If you already buy Zebra through a reseller, you can usually buy this the same way.
Two paths. Zebra mobile computers and scanners run the Sensolus app and read Bluetooth (BLE) location tags. Supported handhelds run the Sensolus gateway service and the app at the same time, all on Android. Zebra RFID readers are registered in the platform as infrastructure devices and post their scans to Sensolus. Ask us to confirm your specific models before you plan a rollout.
No. The integration builds on the Zebra hardware you already own. The app is pushed to your Zebra devices through your own IT, and your RFID readers send their scans to Sensolus once we have set the connection up with you.
It depends on the path. Sensolus location tags work with Zebra mobile computers and scanners, the setup Ampère uses. Your own RFID tags work with fixed-reader checkpoints: you register each tag in the platform under its EPC identifier. Both appear in the same Sensolus platform.
Yes. Zebra checkpoint scans, mobile scans and smart tracker locations appear together in one view, so you get detailed on-site detection plus visibility off-site and in transit.
A scan tells you an asset was next to that Zebra device at that moment, which is what Ampère relies on to see where its roll containers sit. Coverage follows your people, so the more that passes an asset, the fuller the picture. Many teams also mount a smart gateway in their trucks, which scans for tags on the road without anyone touching it. And for the assets you need to follow continuously, a smart tracker reports on its own.
Tell us which Zebra devices your team runs and which assets keep going missing. We'll show you what those same devices can pick up once your assets carry a tag, and what a rollout would look like.
