Ride for Water, Ride for Life: Sensolus powers Germany’s first live-tracked social impact expedition

From Berlin to Hamburg, with a detour through Switzerland and a bike that’s technically an industrial asset for two weeks. Brix Schaumburg is back in the saddle, and this time you can ride along.

Brix is a moderator, author, speaker and award-winning performer who has spent years using his platform to advocate for diversity, tolerance and awareness. “Ride for Water, Ride for Life” is the fifth edition of his nationwide cycling initiative, and the first under this new name. Across previous editions, Brix has already cycled 11,500 kilometers and raised €28,500 for causes he believes in.

This year’s edition is 1,500 km across Germany (and a stretch of Switzerland), with one important first: every kilometer is live on a map. Brix had always dreamed of a trackable tour, and we’re proud to make it happen. Sensolus is the exclusive technology partner of Ride for Water, Ride for Life.

What started as a personal project during the pandemic has grown into one of Germany’s most visible community-driven cycling tours. Across 15 stops, Brix is bringing local communities together through talks, performances, readings and open meet-ups, all while raising funds for two organizations close to the heart of the tour:

• 💧 Viva con Agua — working for clean water and sanitation access worldwide.
• ❤️ Freunde fürs Leben e.V. (FRND) — raising awareness around depression and suicide prevention.

It’s a ride about visibility, mental health and clean water. Three causes that don’t usually share the same hashtag, but that come together naturally on two wheels.

Between 14 and 28 May, Brix’s bike is travelling from Berlin → Havelberg → Gartow, then jumping south for Zürich → Basel → Heidelberg → Frankfurt → Koblenz → Köln → Münster → Bremen → Hamburg, finishing with a charity gala in Hamburg on 28 May.

Along the way, Brix is also stopping in at Sensolus customer DHL’s site.
