TL;DR

Challenge: PEP'S (Groupe Pizzorno) faced container theft and zero visibility into their fleet across France's Var region, causing idle resources and operational losses.
Solution: Sensolus trackers with real-time platform on 300 containers.
Results: Instant container visibility, rapid reassignment based on customer needs, and immediate theft detection—including one recovery where tracker data confirmed precise theft timing.
Why Sensolus: After comparative testing, Sensolus was the only solution maintaining reliable connectivity in low-connectivity rural areas, with intuitive platform requiring zero training and seamless implementation through French partner TRAKmy.

PEP’S (Pizzorno Environnement Professionnels Services), a subsidiary of Groupe Pizzorno Environnement, manages private and semi-public contracts with industrial clients, large retailers, schools, and hospitals. With over 50 years of expertise in environmental services, the company relies on its local presence, service orientation, and innovation to provide clients with reliable and sustainable waste management solutions.

In 2024, PEP’S sought a technological fleet tracking solution to optimize container management and improve operational efficiency. Sensolus, a European provider of Internet of Things (IoT) technology, and TRAKmy, Sensolus reseller in France and Europe, were selected by PEP’S to address these challenges.

"The platform is simple and intuitive. Our teams immediately see which containers are available and where they're located, which saves us unnecessary searches and verification calls. We have a centralized, real-time view of the entire fleet, allowing us to respond quickly to customer requests and secure our operations. It's a true operational management tool that gives us greater responsiveness and reliability in our services."

A clear need: reliable container management

Before adopting the Sensolus solution, PEP’S faced two major challenges: container theft and lack of visibility into container availability. Some containers remained stationary without being used, while others were difficult to locate quickly.

The consequence: limited resource utilization and operational losses.

“We had no reliable way to identify the location of our containers or measure their utilization rate. This lack of visibility complicated daily management and slowed down our operations,” explains Michaël Bosselet, Director of Business and Individual Services at PEP’S (Groupe Pizzorno).

A robust solution, even in low-connectivity areas

In April 2024, PEP’S equipped its container fleet with 300 Sensolus trackers. Connected to the Sensolus IoT platform, these trackers enable logistics teams to locate each container in real-time.

The choice of this solution was confirmed after a comparative testing phase. In the Var region, where certain areas present connectivity challenges, Sensolus trackers demonstrated significantly superior reliability compared to competing solutions.

“During our trials, Sensolus was the only system capable of ensuring reliable connectivity everywhere, including in challenging areas. That made all the difference,” notes Michaël Bosselet.

Immediate and tangible benefits

Thanks to Sensolus, PEP’S now benefits from:

  • Better inventory management, by identifying available containers and their exact location
  • Operational optimization, with rapid container reassignment based on customer needs
  • Immediate theft detection, which enables alerting authorities and quickly recovering equipment—as was the case during a container theft where the tracker confirmed the precise time of movement to complement video footage

“The platform is simple and intuitive. Our teams immediately see which containers are available and where they’re located, which saves us unnecessary searches and verification calls. We have a centralized, real-time view of the entire fleet, allowing us to respond quickly to customer requests and secure our operations. It’s a true operational management tool that gives us greater responsiveness and reliability in our services,” adds Michaël Bosselet.

A local partnership

The project was implemented with support from TRAKmy, Sensolus’s distribution partner in France.

“The implementation went smoothly, with genuine technical and operational support. It’s a robust solution that integrates naturally into our practices,” concludes Michaël Bosselet.

Based in Nîmes, TRAKmy markets and deploys intelligent traceability solutions for waste management, industrial, and logistics operators in France and across Europe.

Through integration of the Sensolus IoT solution, TRAKmy enables companies to track, analyze, and optimize the use of their equipment (containers, bins, trailers, carts, vehicles, etc.). These solutions, combining reliability, simplicity, and sustainability, provide complete visibility and facilitate operational decision-making.

With an approach focused on business needs and personalized local support for each of our clients, TRAKmy has established itself as a trusted partner in the digitalization, optimization, and security of physical assets.
